This itinerary mainly interests “the old city” which, in terms of urban growth, developed itself following the criteria, used for Greek colonisations: three broad roads, called Decumani, running from east to west, cut perpendicularly by around twenty smaller roads, called “Cardines”
The itinerary begins from Piazza del Gesu’ Nuovo, which introduces in the old city and winds along the Decumanus inferior ,the old Greek-Roman layout crossing the straight stretch known as Spaccanapoli. The route goes on Via Forcella, along the street that, in times past, laid to the Porta Furcillensis from which it was possible to reach Nola. Spaccanapoli offers the opportunity to admire the imposing noble buildings and the famous religious building, rich of inestimable works of art. Not to be missed the wonderful complex of Santa Chiara of Angevin age.

The Third itinerary regards the Decumanus Superior that corresponds to the layout of the AnticagliaThe area of the Decumanus goes on via Donnaregina ,splendid example of sacred architecture. Going on Via Duomo you can reach the imposing Cathedral, where two thousand years of religious events have been occurred. The Cathedral is interesting not only from the architectonical point of view, but also for the invaluable works of art, kept in the Church. Not to be lose the archaeological zone within the Church.
